Final - Joseph Ironhawk Little

Language has become an important element of my life. Growing up off my reservation contributed to a disconnect to my indigenous identity. However, the transition from my hometown to Stanford has been beneficial to my connection to my Lakota identity. I just completed my second quarter of the Lakota Language and I wanted to share my translation project of a children's book. With translation projects like this, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in the Lakota language and culture. With language comes culture and I am appreciative of language courses taught here at Stanford.
