Intro of Aidan

I am a Tlingit and was raised traditionally learning to hunt and fish from my uncles
and taught all the rights, stories and ceremonies of my people from my grandmother
from a very young age. I have participated heavily in the workings of my Native
Corporation, Klukwan Inc., and I hope to someday be a board member of Sealaska to
further my people’s agenda in a modern way. Native culture has been a huge part of
my life and finding it here at Stanford and learning about the many different
cultures that there are outside of Alaska has been one of my greatest thrills during
my adult life here. This class helps me learn more about my Native community here
at Stanford and gives me unique access to other indigenous cultures other than my
Alaskan Native community that can help me build skills that help my community
thrive.
