As mentioned before, my campaign to become the Tree was centered on my Native identity. It was really great to have so many Native people come support me when I was unveiled as the new Tree, but it felt even better to give back and support them as the Tree. I showed up to the intramural basketball championship game to cheer on and support Muflexma as they played. It was really amazing to see how supportive our Native community is of each other. We had a giant group of people show up to the game and it was really heartwarming.
