In the mid to late 1800s, Edward Curtis travelled across Indian Country photographing Native people. His goal was to capture these people's way of life before they were completely exterminated. Often he would have them dress in ceremonial regalia or provide clothes from other tribes in an attempt to fetishize Native people to white audiences. Inspired by Curtis' original series, The North American Indian, I pondered what it would be like if he had photographed modern Native people using 1800s photography methods.
